This is a great book on nutrition basics that is ideally suited for anyone who wants to improve their health through nutrition but doesn’t know where to start. The author does a great job of addressing the concerns of everyone – from meat eaters to vegans. I really liked both the chapter on gluten free eating as well as the section that addressed the dangers of GMO’s. Other great sections include maintaining the acid/alkaline balance, a section on sweeteners and section on an anti-inflammatory diet. I highly recommend this to anyone getting started with healthy nutrition – in fact, I’ll be sharing this one with my parents.

This is a top notch book written by a health professional. He explains everything clearly, and so that the reader can really grasp the concepts.

My favorite chapter was the one on anti-inflammatory foods. This is such an important issue, and most of us neglect it. Do you have a genuine understanding of which foods are pro-inflammatory, and which are anti-inflammatory?

The part about wheat (in the section on common digestive maladies) will be a real eye-opener for many people. The wheat and wheat products we get nowadays are different than the wheat of yore, and Dr. Tano explains all about this.

The way I look at health, we can either take responsibility for it now, or pay for lazy lifestyles and eating habits later (with acute and chronic illnesses). This book is an easy way to move our health in the right direction IF we apply the knowledge the Dr. conveys.

I read a lot of health and nutrition books. I am the mother of six, so I am always looking for ways to keep everyone in tip top condition.

I have noticed over the years that when my kids eat certain foods, wheat for instance, we have more health and behavior problems. This book has reinforced that certain foods, though some might consider them to be health foods, can actually be harmful to the body.

I have re-read the section on anti-inflammatory foods several times over the past few days. My 9 year old son just broke his wrist and we are trying to reduce the swelling (inflammation) so that a cast can be put on. After little success with traditional methods of alleviating the swelling, I decided to mainly feed my son foods off of the list of anti-inflammatory foods.

The swelling has gone down since yesterday afternoon and my son has not asked me for any pain medication since last night.

Food really is our best medicine. I LOVE this book and will be re-reading it with a pen and paper to take notes.

I’m half way through this book and I’m impressed with all the information packed in this nutrition guide!

I’ve been hitting up the gym for since the beginning of this year and even though I workout a lot, my diet plays a HUGE role in my well-being.

The 40/30/30 plan for eating is really helping me have my diet under control. The gist of this diet plan is balance two metabolic hormones which in turns helps promote the burning of fat!

You’ll need to pick up this book if you’re trying to lose weight or just want to start eating healthy and feeling a WHOLE lot BETTER!
